TVR Semi-Active Suspension – ACE+

As with all our TVR Suspension, we have personally developed and used this active suspension before releasing it to our customers.

It’s a little odd to say this is Plug n Play for a car part but with the Active Suspension taking care of everything this really is an all-round suspension system that will adapt to the driving conditions and driving style.  

Our ACE+ kit is exactly the same as the ACE kit but with remote reservoirs for the gas compartment.  With the inclusion of the DDA valve, there is simply not the space to run this damper with separated oil and gas at this length.

I have made changes via the remote control nearly every time I have used the dampers and on each occasion, I have felt the change but can 100% say that the suspension has then adapted itself and I have not once felt under or oversteer.  (I did once when set to full hard on the DDA – Dynamic Damping Adjustment – experience some oversteer at the very limit of grip in a high-speed corner. Nearing 1.7g the rear broke loose but the damping simply controlled everything along with some steering input.  I did not even lift off the throttle.

(Less than 1/100th sec).  It’s simply unbelievable and for a road and track or just fast road user transforms the car.  Adjustment can be made to the ride front and rear separately, roll and dive/squat all from the comfort of the drivers seat – whilst on the move if needed.

This is not just some techy type gadget.  It really does do what it says on the box!

The pictures are of the R-ACE spec kit but if you delete the adjusters in the canister they will be identical.

We specify the correct weight spring for your car and use.  Should a helper spring be required for your use an additional £200.00 charge is applicable.

ACE

TracTive Road-Track ACE technology (Activity Controlled Electronic) creates the ability to have multiple set-ups ranging from compliant for low grip situations to maximum controlled for sporting events. These settings can be available to the driver with one touch of a button and can be pre-set to 5 memory positions.
Motion of the vehicle is measured using the internal sensors of the control unit. From the motion of the vehicle, the required damping per individual corner is determined and set. The corresponding response time is 6-10ms. In this time of 6-10ms, the damper stiffness can be set fully proportional from full stiff to full soft.

R-ACE

R-ACE takes advantage of the full functionality of the ACE technology. On top of the Tractive ACE technology, conventional compression high- and low-speed adjusters are added. Using these compression adjusters, it’s possible to fine-tune the damper characteristics. R-ACE, as the name suggests, is best suited for race applications.
The compression adjusters can be located in remote reservoirs, piggyback reservoirs or even inline reservoirs.

 

The TracTive Road Track line dampers come with the following specifications:

  • 43mm inverted McPherson struts where applicable
  • 38mm piston for inverted and specific rear shocks
  • 46mm piston for Multilink suspension and similar
  • 16mm spindle for maximum strength and rigidity
  • Damper made for fitment of Tractive uni-ball top mounts where applicable
  • Racing springs for selected applications with customizable spring rates
  • Steel inverted McPherson struts with adjustable 7075 aluminium mounting brackets
  • 7075 aluminium ARB where applicable
  • Adjustable top mounts on inverted McPherson struts
  • Solid top mounts for multilink applications
